In Re-Purposed Efficient Kitchen, Heirlooms Take Center Stage
“It’s a blessing to receive family heirlooms and treasured pieces from your husband’s family… or is it? I was very excited when my mother-in-law gave me a ton of her beautiful crystal, china and silver pieces, but where to put it all? I have my own sets of crystal, china and silver and our house is only so big! For several years I tried to rotate stuff, but nothing ever looked quite right.
Then in swooped Liz. She gathered all our treasures, looked in all the storage places and created a plan that would dazzle us… no, no, she REALLY did! She moved, stacked, reorganized, made suggestions regarding donating, reusing and storing things properly. She re-hung art and family pictures; created a stunning wall of photos on the staircase; moved furniture; had me clean out cupboards, bookcases and drawers.
The first time we had a party after the redo everyone was asking us when we got that new piece, those dishes, these glasses? I didn’t buy one new thing!
